Maybe you are already lovable, and your ideal person is telling you every day
just how lovable you are. If so, congratulations!
But in case you have not yet reached the promised land, let’s talk.
When we don’t have someone who loves us, we tend to focus on our feelings of
being rejected.
We start to feel stuck.
We begin to feel resentful of others who are wanted.
We may even begin to lose hope of ever being loved.
A new way of seeing things
I want to offer you a different way of looking at your situation.
One that is more constructive and more hopeful.
I want to talk with you about what makes a woman lovable.
I believe I can summarize what it takes in eight statements.
I believe that once these eight statements are true of you,
you will have become lovable.
You will have greatly increased the likelihood that you will be loved.
They are simple statements. Easy to understand.
Yes, they are challenging to achieve…but possible for every woman.
Curious?
Are you willing to take a look at them?
Are you willing to ask yourself: How many are true of me now?
And: How many can I see becoming true if I put my mind to it?
Let’s DO this!
A vision is a beautiful thing
When we have a vision of our goal, we are already halfway there.
The reason we need leaders is because leaders give us vision.
They have fire inside them.
They speak their vision boldly, and their vision inspires us!
Then we go out and make it happen.
We make their vision real.
They need us just as much as we need them.
“I have a dream!”
Martin Luther King gave us his vision in his “I Have A Dream” speech.
He delivered it from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial to 250,000 people of all
races gathered to march in Washington in 1963.
He thundered out to the crowd:
“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where
they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their
character! “
My brother was there in that crowd.
He was inspired by that vision, and he fought for it. So did I.
We Americans are all still working on it.
Vision is a beautiful thing.
As the Bible says, without vision the people perish.
My vision for you
Well, I am not MLK, but today I am going to offer you my vision.
My vision of a lovable woman.
The woman you can be, if you are willing to build yourself and make it real.
I have a dream that one day you will proudly declare:
I know who I am.
I am my own best friend.
My spirit is tender and strong.
I respect myself.
I take good care of myself and look my best.
My education and work make me proud.
I am a builder and uniter of my community, country and world.
I love responsibly.
What a beautiful day that will be.

responses.
Exploring each area will lead you to see yourself in new ways.

Go ahead and create an inspiring vision of yourself as a lovable woman!
Next week I will offer you some thoughts on how you can begin
to build yourself.
But you know yourself better than I do.
That is why the place to begin is with how YOU see yourself.
